Guess who's going to Cosmetology school? Yep, I am. After doing hair, nails and makeup for years, I've decided to spend a year of my life learning the "proper" procedures in this business of beauty. In addition, my hope is to be able to share lots of information with those of you who have questions, but have neither the time, money, or interest in attending a full-blown Cosmetology course. I must admit, that I find it a bit disheartening that while I am required to take 1,500 hours of Cosmetology courses, very few (almost none) have to do with caring for natural hair. I'm also at a loss to find that some of the mannikin heads that are supposed to represent Black people are straight and wavy hair mannikins. What in the world is going on? Now I really could go on and on about this topic, but I'm keeping it short for right now. I just wanted to share with you that I'm attending school right now and will be bringing to you beauty information that I'm learning.
Ofcourse I will be addressing the lack of natural hair care in future posts. Until then, love, peace, and no more hair grease. Susan

AuthorHello, I'm Susan of Inspired Locs. I started locking my hair after I saw how beautiful my sister's locs were. She looked distinct. So, I was inspired to loc my hair also and to stop using chemical relaxers in my hair. This was in September of 2002. Categories
